The iDeZign Style of photography

How would you like the feeling of an unposed, natural and candid photography but with the confidence that we are not missing the shots. The basis of our style is to give a very natural feel to your day. It is possible to pose for a photograph and not even realize it, so long as you are having fun.

It is very simple when you think about it, take the 3 key elements of a candid photograph;

1. Subject is unaware. wedding photojournalist

2. The photographer is not manipulating.

3. The subject is normally distracted by other events.

Now as a purist it is hard to say I shoot completely candid when we are employed to take your photos, you know we are there and therefore can not be unaware of us. I am not saying that all shots on a wedding are not candid, there heaps that you will unaware were taken until you see the images latter.

What we do is make them look like they are candid. We use distraction element to make you less conscious or unaware when images are being taken. Distraction is often created Natural Light by people around us like bridal party, friends, and family. Movement and action like walking and talking are also great tools of distraction. These moments of distraction take your attention away from the camera and allow us to capture your expression in a more natural candor. When you are having fun it is a lot easier for us to guide you into position, like posing without knowing it.

By using the elements of candid and creating the right mood you are too busy having fun to notice when and how we are taking photos. This achieves a candid style we call natural photography.

Method:

Link Framing...

iDeZign uses a unique method called 'Link Framing'. This has been many years in the making and is not something you learn from school, books or overnight. It takes years of practice to develop it to become a natural part of your photography style.

Every Image Frame needs to link directly or indirectly. You have to be continuously thinking about the last image you have taken, the one you are taking and the next image after that. Images must be taken with purpose and there is often no room for random fragmented images without links to the story. I often find images taken without purpose are more often than not eliminated from the clients selection because it simply doesn't fit. Of course I do shoot random images but you must think of how it will be incorporated in to the story an whether you need to shoot more supporting content for it. Naturally this is not a rule that can't be broken, it's just meant to keep you in check for will be important narrative content.

This is particularly important due of our candid natural style. Because we do not shoot the same way week after week and believe every project is different you need a frame work to keep it together and consistent. Simply put the 1st image you take sets the tone for the images that precedes it. Where you start, end and everything in the middle must make sense and flow. How you choose to frame and what angle or orientation you choose must link to create album and story flow. Images must balance ie, if you take an image of the bridesmaids make sure you balance the shot with an image of the groomsmen.

Photo story telling is not a lot different to writing a book . If the paragraphs do not tie together and don't make scenes then you will not enjoy reading it, same with photography.
