Wedding Video Coverage explained......
Why choose a professional wedding video producer?
When you get down to the 'bare bones' of it, what is your wedding day really all about? Think about it ... no matter what religion (or not) you are, it is really all about just one thing. Your wedding day is about publicly making promises to the one you love, everything else is just decoration. Nice, expensive, stylish decorations, but decorations, all the same.A professional videographer is the only one who can capture those all important vows for you to relive forever. Edited together with the look in your partner's eye as they profess their undying love for you to the world. You're then able to watch and listen to what was said, how it was said and really feel the emotion of the scene.
iDeZign often works with many of Melbourne's finest videographer other than their own team. It is always a good idea to check with is before confirming your videographer as we do not work with some companies. I we believe other companies take away more from the day rather than add are not beneficial and make our job of capturing the natural flow very difficult.

Re-live your wedding day on video
Photographs are a fantastic way of recording the events of the day and traditionally this is how people remembered their weddings, through their album. However, photographs only tell half the story. They miss the cheer of the crowd as you're announced Husband and Wife. They miss the heartfelt speech by one of the bridal party. They miss the music that you waltzed to and they miss the frantic rush for the bouquet. Only Video can capture all this and more.
But my Uncle's got a good video camera, why not get him to film it?
This is the main reason wedding videos have such a bad rap. Have you ever been to someone's place and they've shown you home movies. Boring eh? Well, wedding videos shot by amateurs end up looking like amateur videos or worse still, home movies.Consider the sound recording.
The video equipment and it's use is only part of the story. What about the equipment and expertise to capture the sound? This is one of the most important and difficult tasks facing the video producer. There's shotgun mics, DAT tapes, radio mics, minidisk recorders, boom mics, mpeg recorders and lapel mics just to name a few. Ensure you listen to their previous productions before agreeing to hire a videographer. And don't forget the editing.
From a 2 camera shoot, there can be typically 4 or 5 hours of footage. This needs to be condensed in to a production that is concise and entertaining while also containing all the highlights of your day. Imagine your friends having to go through 5 hours of footage just to get to the funny bit where Raylene knocked over Aunty Nelly trying to catch the bouquet. In his book, 'In The Blink of an Eye', the famous editor Walter Murch said "It's not what you keep in, it's what you leave out that's important.". I believe 45 mins - 1 hour is a good length for a wedding video. All the most important parts, like walking down the isle, the vows, the kiss, throwing flowers and frilly lace bits at your mates etc can be shown in this timeframe. Some ceremonies (and even speeches!!!) go for more than an hour, so if you want to keep all the ceremony and all the speeches, I suggest you discuss with your videographer the possibility of keeping the raw footage (or maybe having a separate longer version as well).
In Summary
There are only 2 wedding services than can last the whole day and leave you with products that continue to be used after your wedding. These are photography and video. However, only a professional wedding video producer can capture more than just the moment. They can capture the sounds, action and emotion of your wedding day, edit and author it to DVD for you and your friends to enjoy whenever you like.Getting a 'friend' to video your wedding is like trying to photograph your ceremony with a disposable camera. You 'may' get a couple of OK shots, but no album. Even if your 'friend' is a good camera operator there's still the sound recording, editing and DVD authoring that they need to be proficient in before you can be assured of a production you want to watch.
